Growth of tea online.

If many of you are rabid tea drinkers, you probably searched for tea at least once. Lately I've noticed that the number of tea sites that are now online has grown quite a bit. I wouldnt know the exact count, but the reality is that tea is gaining acceptance finally here in the states, which is great news indeed. Plus many of these online tea companies seem to all sell different teas, so that theoretically you could never drink the same cup of tea twice.

So for those of you out there that love tea, do a search and knock yourself out.

Cute tea comic site

Just found this cute little tea comic site. It's about a girl in college and how tea helps her deal with her daily grind.

It's pretty amusing to read.

Tea extracts better than brewed tea?

Could this be true?

Could this be true?

I can't beleive this if this is true!

According to this article, studies have shown that the green tea extracts have higher levels of antioxidants than just regular brewed tea.

This is pretty interesting if it turns out to be truem but we'll see. In my opinion, nothing beats having a cup o' tea to relax.

DRINK TEA

Why it's good: The antioxidants in tea have been linked to many health benefits, including protection from heart disease and cancer. Tea is not only soothing, but now there's evidence that tea can boost immunity.

Research shows: A study published in May 2003 by the National Academy of Sciences looked at people who drank 20 ounces of tea daily for two weeks. The tea drinkers had immune cells that produced a wealth of anti-germ chemicals when exposed to bacteria. In contrast, study participants who drank coffee instead of tea produced no disease-fighting chemicals in response to the same bacteria.

What to look for: Black oolong and pekoe teas as well as green teas that say they contain catechin, a phytochemical thought to have natural antibiotic and anti-diarrheal effects. Also, teas containing the natural chemical L-theanine have been thought to boost immune function.

looking for the latest in tea?

If you're looking for the latest drink then this was the expo to go to.

The natural prodcuts show in Asia was strewn with drinks of all types and shapes. From lychee juice, with and without jelly to chrysanthemum juices. Pretty interesting stuff. Let's see how much of the stuff we get to see over here. Many of these products will probably be only found in your local asian market, just like the rice drinks. mmmm...

Take a gander at some of these yummy products. We'll be attending the natural products west show in March. Hopefully they'll have some great stuff that carried over from the asia show.
